FMLA/Paid Medical Leave for Bipolar

Post Body

Folks, this is pretty US specific, but has anyone applied for and used FMLA for bipolar?

Mine is mostly managed by medication, but the environment at work has been so stressful this entire year that I cannot regulate my moods. My work is sloppy, my temper is fiery and...I cry a lot.

I have experienced distinct depressive and (hypo)manic episodes before, but this kind of rapid change is a) new, b) destroying me and c) is triggered far too easily at work.

After a recent meltdown, the idea of using FMLA benefits was floated by my boss. I am going to apply for it, but nervous that it may get denied.

I am eager to hear about folks' experiences.

Thanks in advance!
