Mood inconsistent during depressive episodes?

Curious how others episodes can be. I’ve been noticing with mine I’ll go back and forth from somewhat manageable depression to being unable to get out of bed. Makes me second guess things as I’ve always been told that it’s your not able to even function the whole entire cycle. Been going through an episode currently where earlier today I was completely shut off and suicidal to where now I’m able to get around and talk to others but still feeling very down inside. What about you guys?
