Hi all, my background is very much in the life sciences. I was looking at a very interesting compound that can improve the efficiency of a specific enzyme. The compound seems to be made through chem/pharma methods, but i was wondering if there was a field that specialised in getting organisms to make specific chemicals, and what that workflow generally looks like. Also, is it feasible to get an organism, say yeast or bacteria, to make just about any compound? or is chemical manufacturing have more capability in this area than say "bio-manufacturing"?
