What do you think of Biotech equity research? What is the expected salaries?

I am PhD graduate with 2 years of BD experience at large pharma. Want to move to equity research. I have finance experience too but maybe a 7/10 on that. Definitely a strong 9/10 on writing and communication. What salaries can I expect ? What are the exits?
