Boss just went back on offer letter and said I’d be a contractor. What gives?
Post Body

This is my first ever industry job. I signed the offer letter on a full-time employee position last week, and I’m starting next week. Today my new boss gave me a call and told me that I’d be starting off with a 2-3 month contractor position before being considered for full-time employee status. Pay is the same, but I’m not getting employee benefits anymore. Is this normal? I understand wanting to be sure that I’d be a good fit for the team, but I also feel like this makes my job a lot less secure.
