Hi. I have an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and during the course of my degree, I got really into biostatistics(I took all the Biostats classes I could, and picked up R, SQL and SAS) and decided I want to further my education in it. My dream is to be a professor and while I do have to take Calc 1-3, real analysis etc, I’m very willing to put in the work to do this and my job would pay for the classes.
I’m wondering if the play is to get an MS in Biostats first and then try my chances with a PhD or apply directly to PhD after taking classes and getting on papers?
If I didn’t have an MPH I would take an MS first and see but that’s the confounding factor. Thanks!
