What do I need to 3D print old Bionicles sets??

Post Body

I recently got nostalgic about Bionicles from when I was younger and thought, isn't it possible now to 3d print the parts and make your own? All you'd need is copies of the manuals that have all of the piece IDs, I'm sure they have 3d files of most if not all of the pieces somewhere. I'm really considering it, has anyone tried this and is there any problems / things I need to know? Tips? Also, would this be illegal? If I'm not selling them I mean.
