Hello my biology friends!

I have a weird question. I am entering my senior year of undergrad and am planning on entering graduate school right after I graduate. I had to make an emergency laptop purchase my sophomore year and I wasn't able to do good research and got a bad laptop that I want to replace. I really like the look of the Microsoft surface pros and iPad pros and I was wondering if these would be good options as a young scientist going into graduate level research. If my next laptop can run word and like power point and such would I be okay in a graduate school setting. I really like the ability to write notes super easily on my laptop and wanted to ask this community who has more experience in grad school before moving forward.
