If a protein gets damaged, the proteasome degrades it. If the proteasome gets damaged, what degrades that?
Post Body

I'm having trouble finding literature on this topic. I could imagine that the proteasome could be degraded by other proteasomes, but I could also imagine that the complex is too stable for this to work. Or maybe the proteasome components are inherently immune to damage. Insight anyone?
