Biology as a career (??)

Post Body

Hi, I've just entered university at age 18, I've always wanted to biology and later go into either genetical engineering, gene therapy, virology, microbiology. I've been reading a lot of posts about the field and etc, and honestly I'm not feeling very hopeful, I want to live comfortably in the future and have a normal life, is that even possible in this field? Im thinking of changing my major to either psychology or IT but honestly I really wanna do biology. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. thank you everyone so much for any help, one thing to clarify, I'm from like a east European country (we're not in EU) and in the future I do wanna move to either Switzerland, US or well UK and that's why I'm worried about money since I don't think me or family could afford to just move without me having any sort of job. Also I keep thinking that changing my major like at 19 or even at 20 is far too late and I'm up for failure.
