Post Body

Hello! I am very new to using the tool and to bioinformatics in general. I am trying to use antiSMASH to look for possible secondary metabolites in fungi. When I upload the genome of the fungus I'm interested in, I get a lot of proposed metabolites on the MIBiG tab. However, their similarity scores confuse me. They are lower when using the Cluster to Region option and higher when using Region to Region. Also, I seem to be unable to orient myself on what a 'good' similarity score is. Some of them are 0.29 on the Cluster to Cluster option, and others - 0.71. How do I interpret this information? Thank you very much in advance.
