[Half baked idea] The NBA has lost its luster because stars aren’t larger-than-life the way they used to be

Post Body

Going back to last night’s thread about why the NBA is failing/didn’t overtake the NFL when it was primed to make a run for it. The previous generation of stars (LeBron, Kobe, Wade, CP3, Dwight, KD, Dirk, etc.) seemed like mythical, larger than life guys. They had a certain aura around them that the current/next generation of stars don’t have. The next generation just seem like dudes. Does anyone else agree? Or is this just a product of me seeing stars as a kid vs as an adult?
