Affordable, but durable crankset
Post Body

Hello everyone,

I admit to be very ignorant and that I use my bike just for a bit more than one hour per day to go back and forth from work.

I received for free an old low range MBC that I want to fix.

One of the thing that I want to change is the crankset. I would like to go from a 3x8 (rear derailer is Shimano Alivio) to a 1x8 with a chain ring between 32T and 36T.

The main reason is that basically I already use just the middle ring most of the time on my current bike and I would like to install something easy to maintain avoiding to buy and install the front derailer and taking care of if.

Do you have any suggestions for which one to buy? Maybe something from Shimano? I found one from Decathlon (Elops, 36T, 20 Euro).

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.

Kind regards, Francesco
