Can I replace RPM BB-7420 with Shimano BB-UN300

I have 2010 Marin Kentfield and the BB is toast

Current BB

RPM BB7420 BC1.37 x 24
Width 118 (printed on the BB)

I purchased a Shimano BB UN300 same specs as above and it just looks a bit different

You can see from the first image that the original (silver) looks about 1mm longer from the end of the axel to the inside of the threaded part

And in the second pic the new housing sits higher than the original BB (I think it is because of the blue stuff on the inside of the housing)

See the third pic, there is blue stuff on the inside of the left side housing, will this squash in when I screw the left side in?

I know I can just give it a go, but I don't think I can return the UN300 if it's all scratched up trying to get it on.

Any thoughts would be appreciated
