Hopefully simple rear derailleur question
Post Body

Hey everyone, I'm very new to the bike maintenance world and I've recently been adjusting the rear derailleur on my new to me, used bike. It's a Shimano style 9 speed rear derailleur and when adjusting my L screw limits for the lowest gear (largest of the cassette) I need to tighten it basically as far as it can go to prevent the ability to over shift. When the screw is tightened that far i can no longer (at least smoothly) shift into my highest gear (smallest of the cassette). When the L limit screw is backed off a bit I can shift between all of the gears very nicely but it will occasionally overshift and fall off of the low gear and fall into the spokes. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
