Was headed northwest on Somerville Ave in Somerville, just past intersection with Park St. There is a marked bike lane. Car came up beside me and turned right onto Central Street, and I hit them. Spoke briefly with the driver, who thought that I was supposed to yield to a turning vehicle (I understand if I was behind them, sure, but he wasn't that far ahead). Got a picture of the license plate.
He eventually drove off while I called the Somerville PD non-emergency line. Wanted to file a report of some sort; was transferred around several times before ultimately being hung up on (I will note that there seemed to be connection issues, so I'm guessing they couldn't hear me and thus hung up). Now home, and not sure if there's anything I should be doing. Don't think I'm hurt beyond a sore leg and a scrape (and a hole in my jeans). Is there anything the police can do besides take a report? Should I be trying to file something in the first place?
tl;dr: car turned across the bike lane, collision ensured. Now home, what next?
