Someone stole my bike .. Experience with Police so far and Next steps?

Someone stole my bike (Apache RTR 160) on 19th January late night in Barh (near Patna). I have already filed a police complaint and FIR at the Barh PS.

Came to know that there has been an uptick in bike theft in last 2 months or so in the town. Police is clueless and moreover i am surprised with the responses i am getting from Police station.

I know its not worth spending time on this but how come police don't have any plan or clue on what would be the next steps. Every time, I go to the PS, IO and Officer-in-charge are on some MP / MLA / VIP visit duty. They don't have even 5 minutes to spend on these types of cases.

What should i do?
