So Iβm big and short. I work in an office that requires dress shirts daily. Iβm currently wearing a 18 1/2 collar shirt, classic fit. All my shirts are Van Heusen from JC Penny. The problem is the stomach area. Lot of stress on the bottom button where it occasionally comes undone. But even more common and annoying, is that from the bottom button to my belt, the fabric there is always opening up so you can see my undershirt underneath. As I sit down and get up the fabric spreads apart there so Iβm constantly having to fix it. Itβs very annoying.
I canβt seem to find a solution without getting a shirt so big that it looks messy, sloppy, and very unfashionable.
Any advice?
I'm not sure if they're still readily available.... But one solution for this was button stays - little elastic pieces that connect between the button and the hole to allow more give, without the gaping. One side is just a loop that does around the button, the other just looks like a button.
