What was life in BigLaw like prior to laptops?
Post Body

Less of a "work in law firm" thing and more of a "technology backfiring question", but during my exit interview a few years back I discussed with my boss that what was causing a lot of the turnover was the workload, he said that "That's always been a thing in BigLaw" and I (mindlessly) mentioned that sure, but when he was an associate laptops and smartpones were not as common, so when you left the office, that was it, now we cannot mentally separate from work cause we have all the tools needed to make our homes an extension of our office.

To ppl who were in BigLaw before remote working and 24/7 connectivity, do you think I was somewhat right in this?
