Too preface, I've always struggled with clothing. For 37 years I've been a broad shouldered bigger male with bowed legs (4 inches between my knees with feet touching). I have always struggled with finding pants that don't drag on the ground.
My chest length is perfectly suitable for men's XL shirts. However, at 5' 7" and 240 lbs, size 40 pants are too tight to move comfortably while size 42 fall off me without a belt and no matter what size, the length is just too long. All men's pants default to a 30 inseam while a far better fitting 26-27 inseam basically just doesn't exist. If my legs weren't so bowed, it'd likely not be nearly as bad of a situation.
Now, having recently come to terms with myself while discussing things and opening up to my partner, I've begun trying to build a women's wardrobe. They're helping as best they can, being a female presenting non-binary who's spent their whole life wearing women's clothes and having an intimate understanding of things I find comfortable or appealing, but I'm coming up against the same wall I have for 37 years and it's disheartening.
Every dress, every skirt, every pair of casual pants that I find and I want has to be size XXL, XXXL, 18, 20, or 22 depending on the brand and every single one is dragging the ground by several inches. I can't find good-looking clothes for bigger, shorter people.
I'm hoping this is the right place to ask. I'm new to all of this, especially the realization of being bigender. Comfortable, better fitting women's clothes would really help me feel so much better, and I'd love to avoid the struggle that I've had to deal with for men's clothing for decades.
