Hitting the cervix

What is everyone's experience with hitting the cervix? When I have sex with my wife I think I'm hitting it quite often. I don't feel a barrier as such, but there will be a reaction from her, like 'wow, that was deep' and we have to pause for 5 seconds.
Not 100% sure this is her cervix, but it's certainly a very deep part of her vagina that she isn't used to getting regularly penetrated. I ask her if she's OK, and the usual response is 'Ye I'm fine, that was just really deep'.
