As an old guy (66), classic boomer, dick size statistics have evolved over the years. Pre Internet, (my first thirty years), virtually the only published study that even mentioned penis size was Kinsey, that I later learned was all self reported but set the standard for ânormalâ.
Six inches.
Normal.
As a young man, my only concern was whether it was ânormalâ, not whether it was big, bigger or anything. All I had to know was that by the time I became sexually active, was that I had what I was supposed to have.
I was gratified that as I attended college I was attractive to girls and had lots of sex and aside from the occasional, âitâs perfectâ there was never any talk. Lots of orgasms and plenty of satisfaction, but physically it was what it was. If they liked it they came back, but NOBODY ever said they came back because of my size, they just came back.
I never discussed or compared sizes with my friends. We just competed for the girls. It just wasnât a thing, not showing or talking was probably based on not wanting to be called gay. Having said that, all we knew was that if you had six you were normal.
Along comes the Internet and statistics became available. Suddenly my 7 (a little bigger than ânormalâ) was much larger than the 5.15 to 5.5 average. I had still never compared or even considered girth, but my dick has now become LARGE, even though it remained the same size.
It got bigger, even though it remained the same size. An unearned promotion for every guy in the world. None of their sizes changed, just their ranking.
Then a new meta study appears and now a reinterpretation says that ânormal todayâ is six inches.
My dick is now smaller again, but still bigger than normal and itâs size never changed.
My bullshitometer is off the charts.
This evolution of size statistics going up and down and again reaching stasis at the same place we started from,(6â) makes me feel that all this comparing is irrelevant and the only thing that matters is how big your special other enjoys.
Isnât it bizarre that engaging in all this comparative competition is so variable?
I think being humble and more concerned about those who youâre with rather than worrying about where you rank is a healthier state of mind.
Full circle.
