Liftie “This is not Big Bear” buttons at Snow Valley

A good number of Lifties at Snow Valley have been wearing the buttons mentioned in the title. I get it— literal truth— it’s a different place. But, what’s behind the statement? Are they upset at being owned by Big Evil Corporation? Proud of their independent identity/spirit? Frustrated at hearing Jerry rave about how great it is “here” in Big Bear?
Anybody have any insight/explanation?
