Dear cyclists of London, I'm on the verge of buying my first road bike in an attempt to achieve my long term goal of competing in a triathlon. The only problem - I'm moving back to Central London in a fortnight as university term starts.
I'm really not confident riding on London's roads (I live in Kings' Cross, and in the past year of living there have seen far too many accidents, some fatal, around the area).
So my question: is riding and training for fitness viable in Central London? Will it be a case of getting the train out to somewhere a bit more suitable? Or do I have to resign myself to just buying a indoor trainer?
Any help / routes / advice greatly appreciated.
TLDR: Is it possible to cycle in Central London without killing myself?
