Hey guys, UK here. I've bagged myself £180 worth of Amazon vouchers through some volunteer work, and having for a while really wanted to get into cycling, thought this might be as good a chance as any.
I'm a major running obsessive, and have the long-term goal of hitting up a triathlon some time in the near future and mixing in some cycling for extra fitness/cross training as soon as possible. Unfortunately I have a painfully small student budget, and could never afford the beginners bikes I've seen suggested (upwards of £500).
I'm fully aware buying a bike blind off amazon without trying it might be met with horror and dismay! But on my budget, £180 off the price tag is essential. I'm just looking for a comfortable, safe bike that'll let me get my feet wet (as it were).
So far, it seems like this might be a good bet: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Viking-Peloton-59cm-Gents-Speed/dp/B007V2WX6Y/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1345996535&sr=8-7
Help me, Reddit, you're my only hope! Any thoughts, advice, experiences would be massively helpful...
TLDR; Forced to buy bike from Amazon, have little to no clue how terrible an idea this is.
