I'm starting this biking endeavor with an old, 20 year bike that's basically a mountain bike. I had it serviced, (I'm not yet mechanically inclined 😜) at my local bike shop.
Inquired about getting a new, road bike. They gave me an estimate of $1,000. I don't mind spending that kind of money for something I know I'll enjoy.
My question is, what should I realistically budget for not only the bike, but any accessories I may need?
I've got a helmet, purchased it the day I got my bike serviced. Just wanted to know what I'm looking at as far as clothing, etc.
Looking to continue with my current bike till the end of this year, and will have lost a good deal of weight so I want to treat myself next year.
Any suggestions on what I'll need money wise as well as accessories would be great!
