Post Body

Hey everyone, I been working out for the last few months. I started to bike around my area to switch up my workouts, when one day I had the idea of biking across America. I don’t know where to start, I’m looking for an affordable bike and if anyone has any resources/blogs/videos etc. where I can get more information about how plan my trip and what gear I should be looking for. Thank you in advance everyone. Happy riding!

Edit: hey everyone thank you so much for all the resources and advice. I want to give a little more context. The bike I currently have is a single speed bike, it’s really old and I have had it since my freshman year of high school which was 15 years ago. I don’t know if I can be done on it. Also, as far as my budget for gear I have $1000 for a bike (really looking for a decent bike because I would like to Ragbri and other events like it in the future. I would like something durable but affordable) and $700 for anything else I need to get. I plan to camp out, I already have a tent and some camping equipment such as sleeping bag, tent, sleeping pads, and a jetboil.
