Danube Bike Rental

I will be flying into and out of Frankfurt later this year.
My bike route will be along the Euro Velo 6 from Ãœlm to Passau along the Danube.
This will be my 3rd Danube biking trip. This time I'm having difficulty finding a bike rental. Other trips I was able to rent in location A and drop off in location B.
I want a decent bike, and plan on bringing my own saddle and pedals, and a single pannier (I travel light and stay in hotels)
Rent in Frankfurt and just take it on the train?
Any other ideas?
