Calorie surplus for glycogen replenish?

Post Body

I'm planning a quick, 2 day mini trip in the coming month. Part of that is planning nutrition- I'd like to carry/cook/prep as much as I can for the trip, vs purchasing (water excepted), just as a sense of personal accomplishment.

Anyway, so when planning my nutrition, I think I have my carbs and energy during the ride figured out, but I realized I wasn't sure whether I need to consume a caloric excess to replenish my glycogen for the second day, or just consume my BMR calories burned. I've got an hrm and power meters, so I can trust the calcs on burned, and I'm also extrapolating from previous rides.

It'll be 100 miles day 1, rolling hills, then 80 miles day 2, mostly flat (gradual transition, but generally the hills are front loaded). So I need to make sure I recover quickly for a decent ride the second day, which I've seen includes a decent sugar intake within the first 30-120 minutes post ride.

Hopefully this is enough info and all makes sense. Thanks!
