Ever since I saw the Haradrim and soldiers of Rhun in the movies I became fascinated with them since they looked cool and were so different from the men of the West and were a contrast to the horde of orcs. You had well disciplined phalanx unit made up of Sauron's most fanatical supporters who served as his elite troops and then you had men riding on oliphants from the far East who answered Sauron's call.
Needless to say I was exited to see them in game and at one point made an experimental army composed entirely of 'evil men'. To my disanointed it didn't go to well since soldiers of Rhun were expensive and were in too few number to make a difference especially when patch 2.22 AI spammed rangers and trebuchets (its like it learnt from how players actually used Gondor). The lancers didn't fare well either, if anything orc warrior and orc archer combined horde with fire archers were much more cost effective and did the job through overwhelming numbers. Finally Mumakil's were slow easy targets and when caught on fire had a chance to trample your own troops making them more of a liability.
I would have at least had the option to combine soldiers of Rhun and Haradrim lancers so they could at the very least support each other and serve as a contrast to tower guard and ranger/archer combos.
But that's just me, in the end I still enjoyed the game and fell back onto the good ol orc horde combos with fire arrows with catapult support. Who knew ranged weapons with high rate of fire and damage (looking at you ranger/elf warrior spam) and supported with heavier ranged weapons would revolutionize warfare and make all melee units redundant.
Thank you for listening to my rant. Do any of you feel the same ? Would you like 'evil men' to be buffed ? Or at the last can be combined ?
