Like I always have, but omg this situation. So today my inlaws held a small get together for my nephew ( 7 years old) and my daughter ( 12month) birthdays. My nephew's behaviors have always been pretty bad, but today took the cake. He always wants to be the center of attention, he's jealous or talks badly to my daughter. Some other examples of his behaviors are:
Licking/biting food and putting it back to where it's served.
He can't practice alot of self care. He screamed for his eyes being crusty and for grandma to wipe them. He can't even wipe his, you know, by himself sometimes.
He hits people, even adults, even almost got reckless around my daughter. He even will intentionally hurt people for fun.
He has almost hurt my daughter even though she's around me like glue.
Well I had it and I literally snagged him and scolded him for hitting his grandma intentionally because grandma told him to settle down while we were opening baby's gifts. And they tried to say " oh he has a platelet disorder where bruising is an ER visit so we can't reprimand him.". I literally snapped that its better than raising a monster. The look on his face was fucking terrifying, and I told them my daughter is no longer allowed around him.
I'm mixed feelings and scared too because nephews parents are separated and his mom is a full blown narc. I also have CPTSD, and I'm not happy my husband chimed that in response to the platelet thing, saying if nephew is going to abuse others, don't be suprised if someone fights back ( because I don't like mental health being an excuse for my actions, I take responsibility).
But yeah, stop coddling violent sons! Why should my daughter grow up in a world where her having any healthy feelings is over dramatic, bossy or what not; but boys violence is childs play.
