New mom and family dying

Post Body

So I'm wondering how new mothers cope with death in the family, esspecially if it was your/partner's parents or the great grandparents. I'll start by saying my Thanksgiving started out stressful with my baby ( 5 m old) who would not sleep and I ended up calling into work because I was not well from staying up. Because I called, per policy during thanksgiving, I lose holiday pay for thanksgiving and Friday because I called in wednesday. So I'm stressed about that. And I found out my closer of grandpas died yesterday and I'm heart broken. He didnt even knew about my child and I'm still processing how to grieve ( because I went no contact with most family 2 years ago). My husband is going to be my support as I need to bring up bereavement, I feel horrible to ask about my unplanned PTO and bereavement. The topic at a relatives too was how a great grandma who's more involved in our life, might die because she's really old, her health isnt getting better and she is trying to get a surgery done in December. I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, I just dont know how to cope when I'm scared of my job security and everyone is dying.
