Hello all, my baby has had a diaper rash pretty much for as long as I remember. At his 4 month appointment his doctor wasn't concerned and didn't think it was yeast, just recommended a different cream. No creams have seemed to help so far except original A&D and anything with zinc just irritates him. He's 6 months now and it got worse so we took him in and a different doctor said it was yeast and prescribed Nystatin. We have been using it for 5 days, 4 times a day with no improvement, so we brought him back in and now she is prescribing Ketoconazole. I am nursing and I don't have any yeast issues myself, no thrush, nothing in his mouth. She also swabbed him for strep and said he may need oral antibiotics. Those of you who have dealt with yeast diaper rashes what have your experiences been like? Did you have to medicate this thoroughly for it to get better?
