No you cannot pick my toddler up with no warning and expect her to be okay with that.
Post Body

I don't know if my kid (2 years) is just extra sensitive but lately we've had an issue of friends and relatives just snatching her up and putting her on their lap. She flips out when people do this to her. You have to ask her first. She still holds a grudge on a friend that did it to her two or three weeks ago. She used to love this guy but one day he decided he wanted to sit in a chair she was in so he just picked her up and sat down trying to put her in his lap. She threw a huge tantrum and she has given him the cold shoulder ever since. I've been explaining to people that she's becoming her own person now and you need to ask her permission if you want to hold her. Heck, I'm her mother and she'll flip out if I just picked her up with no warning. I have to ask/convince her to move. Picking her up and physically moving her is a last resort.
