Having a baby on a high deductible plan
Post Body

Has anyone had a baby on a high deductible insurance plan? I am trying to decide which plan to go with and am very unsure what the best option would be. I will be delivering this calendar year and the baby will go under my husband's plan. The PPO plan has an individual deductible of $1,500 with an out of pocket limit of $3,500. It has copays and 20% coinsurance after the deductible has been met. The HDHP has a $2,600 individual deductible and an out of pocket max of $4,600. It has 20% coinsurance after deductible and no copays. The PPO premium is $141/month and the HDHP premium is $10/month. Can anyone offer any insight or experience with this?
