I'm struggling to lose the last 8-10lbs of baby weight and I'm 5 months pp. I really don't feel like I did much to lose the other 30 lbs I gained. I would kinda start working out but not stick to it. Kinda watch what I eat but then 3 days later eat ice cream. But I've been stuck around the same weight for a few months now. I'm pretty overweight right now (5'1" and 156lbs). I was at my heaviest at the time when I got pregnant(147lbs). I want to lose about 25lbs total from where I'm at now. I feel most comfortable with myself when I'm in the 130lb range.
So for the last two weeks I started walking while wearing my baby. She's about 17.5lbs which is kinda heavy for me. I walk 6 days a week. I only drink water. Avoid fast food or restaurants when I can. I do go out to watch football every Sunday but I try to make smart choices. But I haven't really lost anything yet. I've toned up my calves and thighs some but I still bounce between 155-157 lbs. I've struggled with my weight all my life. And I do best when I calorie count. I can do it. Usually while carlorie counting I'll lose over 5lbs in the first two weeks. I'm just afraid to since I'm EBFing. My two skinny friends that bounced back quickly after having babies lost their milk supply after a month or two. They both think they possibly didn't eat enough.
I've read that you add anywhere from 300-600 extra calories while breastfeeding. When I diet, I only eat 1200 calories a day. Which seems to be on the low end of most calorie counting diets but I'm also pretty short. I'm just not sure where I should be. I'm worried I'll eat too little and lose supply or maybe even eat too much and not lose any weight. I also always feel hungry while I diet. It's just a normal feeling for me. Ignoring my hunger pangs just terrify me that I'll lose my milk supply.
Sorry, this is longer than I intended it to be...Did anybody try calorie counting while EBFing? Did it work out? Or should I just wait until I'm done breastfeeding to count calories?
