I'm too nostalgic to have a baby. I remember the first time I had to put away clothes he'd outgrown and I could barely get through it.
I miss his little 1- and 2-month-old face. It started taking the shape of the one he has now by about 3 months. Of course, both faces to me are still intensely adorable. I just can't help pining for the past.
And it doesn't help when I see that 1-month-old's face in this (Canadian) commercial he got to be in. Every time it airs we get all excited and cheer for him, but when I look over he's not the baby on the screen at all.
With all the changes a baby goes through in this first year, perhaps motherhood will be the best way to get accustomed to the nostalgia blues. Packing away old clothes is a lot easier now that I've done it 4 more times.
Here he is at 2 months vs. 5 months
