Since having my daughter I am very sensitive to stories of sick babies or infant death. I find them deeply upsetting and difficult to move on from. They make me anxious about my own baby. I had a healthy pregnancy, and a planned c-section, so it’s not trauma related.
I just came across a tik tok that really upset me. It was a story about a horrific infant death. The user leapt into it right from the beginning before I had a second to realize what the video was and scroll away. I didn’t watch more than 1 second of the video and I’m still reeling. I know I’ll be thinking about it all day.
I used to watch things like call the midwife before I got pregnant. It would be upsetting at times and I might cry, but I still enjoyed the show. I know I wouldn’t be able to watch it now.
Does anyone feel the same? And if so, how long did it take before you could handle these topics more easily?
Yes I just had to delete tiktok off my phone as no matter how much I filtered it these types of videos kept popping up on my fyp and that would be me spiraling sometimes for days. It really wasn't worth it and it's my responsibility to manage my triggers so it had to go
