So here's my situation. I'm the father. I'm a first-time parent. Me and my partner both WFH. My company offers me 4 months of paid parental leave. On top of that, I can claim 20 weeks from the government, at minimum wage. I can take this time off anytime between birth and a year.
My job is not very taxing, at all. For my work, I maybe do a solid 2 hours of work a day (from roughly 9am to 11am), and then I kind of cruise for the rest of the day.
I was thinking of maybe taking a month off at the beginning, and then maybe taking a few days/half days off from work a during the week, over a period of like 6 months/1 year.
Any advice on how I should approach this? Mainly, I'm just not sure what to expect as a first time parent, so given my circumstance, am looking for advice. Would it also be possible to just look after the baby during working hours, given I don't work a whole lot?
Essentially, I have flexibility in how I take my time off and when, so that's really what this question is about.
