C will be 3 months old in less than a week, and I'm wondering how people have approached initiating bedtime routines. I'll preface this by saying that she's pretty high-needs (quick to fuss/cry, needs to be held most of the time, so far even needs to be held while sleeping), and also that she's still in the Land of Mostly Naps, so she doesn't have a ton of wakeful time during the day yet.
I know I want to incorporate books, some sort of cleanup (bath or sponge-bath), and nursing into it. Do I need to wait until she's gotten to the point where she can sleep in her cosleeper or in bed? As it is right now, she'll be napping intermittently through the evening, and "bedtime" is whenever I'm ready to sleep and we settle in for the night in the recliner with the lights off. At that point, she sleeps through the night, with one or two wake-ups to relatch and nurse back to sleep.
Thanks for any tips!
