Well, I’ve been a fan of our Queen since the beginning. Sure Jumpin’ Jumpin’ and Say My Name were bops, I heard about Girls Tyme before that, and Lose My Breath STILL gets me going today! But one of the first physical literal compact discs I ever owned was a copy of Dangerously in Love, so when I found out she was kicking off RWT with the title track - and, honestly, also after I heard CUFF IT (Wetter Remix) and learned every word - I finally decided to dive in head first to the Renaissance Era after dodging it quite a bit in its first year.
In the meantime, I’ve discovered this community and have been enjoying the several videos fans have been uploading from her Europe shows. As she kicks off her US leg of the tour tomorrow night, I’ve started more consistently looking at the logistics and options for me to see Beyoncé on this tour, closer than I’ve ever seen her before. I’ve seen her three times - once for the Mrs. Carter Show, once on OTR I, and again for OTR II. Always in a lower or middle level bowl seat. Recent years have been plagued by some personal health battles, and I’ve learned this summer that my chronic illnesses, chronic pain, and paralyzing disability will accelerate their pull of me closer to death in the next few years, and as a result I’ve stopped thinking of things in the future. I behave in a way take advantage of every single opportunity that’s in front of me.
That’s why I am now looking at where I will be able to treat myself to the best RWT opportunity possible. As I get older and Beyoncé settles down more with her family, I’m treating this as the last possible chance I’ll be able to experience her as a live entertainer.
Right now, after spending DAYS looking at all the coupon codes available and various options remaining across the US, it seems like the combination of a flight to, hotel in, and Club Renny ticket in Kansas City for the final show would be the best bet. THIS POST IS SEEKING AFFIRMATION, but is also accepting of other things to consider. :) I wanted to run my thoughts past everyone here, though, to see what y’all think!
I have access to the wheelchair accessible accommodations where available, but I’m not sold on the on stage Pure/Honey etc. seats being the best view (any Hive members, especially any using a wheelchair, sat here yet?). I’m leaning towards Club Renaissance for SURE and am looking for tickets under $1k BEFORE fees. I would show up as early as possible to get a left-side of the aisle (Love On Top I think will be my favorite song to see) barricade spot. While I do use a wheelchair I can CERTAINLY hold my own in a crowd - so the only thing I’d really be worried about is visibility (which is why I wouldn’t buy a GA seat in a section, for example). I’ve been in mosh pits, I’ve crowdsurfed (!!) in my wheelchair - no big deal. If I do a 100 level seat it would definitely be wheelchair accessible like in the past, but that’s unlikely this time. PS, Does anyone know how much CR tix in Missouri were originally? Right now 1 ticket is $1,095.
My goals in order are: 1) Have a great, memorable, beautiful time. 2) Not break the bank unreasonably. Budget is about $2k total, incl. airfare and two nights in a local hotel or Airbnb. 2B) See Beyonce as close up and personal as life will allow. 3) Make it an experience.
I have the ability to fly from any of the three airports that serve DC which is great. I work remotely so the date and location are primarily going to be chosen with regard to where the airfare would be most affordable. I have access to very affordable hotel rates thanks to my job. So, if I can finalize this ticket decision - I’ll suit up in my IVY PARK best to enjoy the queen this summer or early fall. Thanks for reading y’all!
