Breaking Bad’s ending is sad because of multiple reasons. Walter White destroyed not only his own life but also his family, and Hank’s death is one of the saddest of the series. Also, Jesse is free but kinda broken, he lost everyone who cared about because of Walter. Meanwhile Walter’s death was sad in a certain way, everytime he does something (especially killing Mike), you wish that he dies because he’s insufferable, however watching him die alone like that is kinda sad.
Now talking about Better Call Saul. I think it’s sadder than Breaking Bad especially because of the way we sympathize with Jimmy and Kim’s relationship. You root for them since the beginning of the show and think they are invincible and inseparable. But watching the ending, in black and white, it gave me a feeling of emptiness. Watching Kim completely different in a way that we’re not used to, and watching them talking like they’ve never been together, it was truly heartbreaking. The feeling that you get at the end is like the world ended.
Jimmy gets sent to jail but is finally free from the prison he created for himself
