I have been living in East Berlin for roughly a year now. During my 7th month an elderly lady (from East Europe, a widow with a "couple gold necklaces" around her neck) rang my doorbell asking if i could rent out my storage room which is located on one of the floors below my floor (not basement); I live on the 10th floor btw. She talked about how hard life has become since her Husband passed away & how she hates Germany.
I told her i'll think about it as i am still organizing the flat but i would eventually contact her. I let a week pass & talked to her. She was strict about having the storage room entirely for herself instead of sharing it with me (which i had proposed). She also said she was willing to pay. Unfortunately that would have not been possible, therefore the answer was No.
idk why or how but I immediately thought about this scenario: She has family in the neighborhood that sell drugs & was asked to store it at a neighbors storage room (LUCKY Me lol). I say yes, its fine...get paid the 1st month(s) and one day suddenly someone breaks in steals everything and now i am the one to blame. Or even better i "somehow" get raided by the police.
FAST-Forward, last month a storage room has been broken into with acid.
Any thoughts on it ? Has anyone ever heard of or had a similar experience ?
