Tapering off of lorazepam
Post Body

Hello all, I’ve been prescribed 1mg of lorazepam to take at night which I have taken every night for the past 3 years. Another 0.5 during the day if needed. Started my tapering journey in July. I went down successfully to 1mg. Last month, I went down to 75mg. So far it’s been more challenging with this one. For 3 weeks now, I believe I am experiencing rebound insomnia. Is that a withdrawal symptom? If so, what can alleviate this symptom? I’ve tried melatonin twice and it didn’t help. My doctor recommends I take an antidepressant but encourages I research the one that would best suit me. Otherwise my doctor thinks I should make lifestyle changes such as no tv screen before bed, meditate, exercise, acupuncture, positive mindset etc…Thoughts?
