I posted earlier about waiting for my healthcare professional to ring me regarding my taper from Clonazepam. It's only going to go ahead if my psychiatrist gives the go-ahead (as I was prescribed while living abroad). So, I'm lying here on the couch after a sleepless night pondering what will happen. I am trying to be positive, but if I get a "no", I'm at a complete loss. The past week or two I've already rung and emailed so many private doctors and psychiatrists, and no one wants to help.
OK, so let's imagine that the psychiatrist understands the hell of withdrawal and approves my supervised taper (I'm scared that he'll say no because I'm on ADHD stimulants), can you guys give me some idea as to what worked best for you? Everyone is different, I know. But the lady is going to let it be patient led (obviously within medically appropriate constraints).
I'm coming off years of prescribed daily 2mg Clonazepam and 2mg Alprazolam use. Should I do the whole taper on Clonazepam? Or, use the Ashton Manual and eventually move to Diazepam? Alprazolam is a hell of a drug, so I hope to never have to take that again.
Any comments on your tapers, both unsuccessful and successful are welcome. I won't take any as "medical advice", so don't worry. I just feel so alone as my dad doesn't understand and I can't worry my frail grandparents.
Thanks
