As the title says, I will find out today whether my GP practice can taper me off my benzo of 2 years. I was desperate for help, searching the internet for a private psychiatrist who might help me, but nobody would. They apparently don't deal with benzo tapers (good job studying for all those years lads. Money well spent 🤦).
If the psychiatrist approves the taper, a very experienced healthcare professional is more than willing to get me off at my own pace. I haven't slept as I'm nervous as to what they will tell me today (whether or not it's been approved), and also because I've been stretching out my medication for weeks now and insomnia is a new tenant in my house now.
I should know within the next 5 hours. Did anyone else have to fight for a safe taper? In most things, doctors know more than me, given that they have studied years. But from what I've seen, I know more than most doctors when it comes to tapering and the fact that you CAN NOT cold turkey benzos after years on them.
