Still waking up confused every morning Thoughts always getting cut out while I think them Still have a brick in my head Slower Forgetful

I cold turkeyed lunesta 6 months ago, and reinstated (kindled) for a rapid taper down 5 months ago, got off ambien 4 months ago.

I fear I have done irreparable damage to hippocampus, hence the memory and awareness and cognitive issues

I went through /r stroke and /r tbi, and discovered that a surge of glutamate wrecking the hippocampus is what usually messes up their memories too, not necessarily what part of the brain the stroke or tbi occurred in.

I can't afford a brain scan to check, and don't know what good kt would do

I can't figure out how to treat this or if it's Eben possible to

It's been four months and I don't seem to be improving anymore, even going backwards slightly

I am certain I had an excitotoxic storm - was in psychosis and awake for five days, got out of bed one day and it was like I woke up as a slow, lobotomized dementia patient.

I do not know how I am supposed to repair anything. Thoughts just loop uncontrollably and mind gets stuck.

Please just anyone else who recovered their cognitive function after a cold turkey like this... I don't know what to do, and have been reading stories of people from similar circumstances who remained messed up for years and never got better.
