After reading this sub, and the attitudes people have, contrary to that, is their a point it's better to be on benzo's?
Especially in the context of my situation. I was born severely premature with moderate fetal alcohol syndrome. I'm clinically retarded, with a 64 IQ, and many health problems, and have always been low functioning and had a severe anxiety disorder. I've been off benzo's for 5 years, after 12 years on (age 14-26), with 4-8mg's of clonazepam a day, 20mg's of Ambien nightly, and am still struggling really really badly now. I am basically completely non functional, and very reclusive atm.
Because of my condition, my anxiety and cognitive problems are permanent. There wont be any "therapizing" my through them... Everything was better on benzo's, my cognition, my quality of life, my mood, and over all I functioned WAY better. I never had problems maintaining on them. But I see so many people say "no their not worth it" but I'm asking is their a point they where they are?
I wonder if getting back on them would be a mistake, or if staying off of them is the mistake. With my condition FAS sub 70 IQ, 97% of us are unemployed. We have a high rate of suicide, homelessness, and incarceration, our average life expectancy is 35. I feel like I should just use anything I can to become more functional.
No benzos will kill you especially if u stop cold turkey
