First psychiatrist was when I was 16, he put me on Prozac then switched to Zoloft then added Wellbutrin SR, I was on the Zoloft, Wellbutrin combo from 2015-2018 when I stopped when I went away to college. Then I didn’t see another doc until spring 2023 when I was prescribed Trazodone for sleep issues and anxiety. Finally saw a psychiatrist last October 2023 who prescribed me Wellbutrin for depression/ADHD. Then Adzenys, then Adderall and recently added buspar last month for severe anxiety. I do not think he is benzo friendly as I remember he mentioned a year ago about how some people come in just looking for benzos. And I have never mentioned the word. I actually suggested buspar when he was considering hydroxizine, or Trazodone because I legitimately thought it could help. Well after 2 days and staying on it for 2 weeks it made me clench my jaw like crazy and made it painful to chew after a few days… terrible I quit and 2 days later the jaw clenching went away. I’m at a crossroads here trying to decide if I should: A) Stick with same psychiatrist and go to the appointment mid January B) Find a new psychiatrist using prescriber lookup and make an appointment C) Find a family doctor or PA. I have no history of substance abuse/ treatment on my medical record and can piss clean if drug tested. What do you all recommend I do?
