Does XR versions have more active ingredient?

So this may be a little bit confusing, but it’s just a theory of mine. So idk if this is true, can’t find any info on it.

So I suppose Extended Release tablets should dissolve over a time period, slowly releasing the agent. But my question is, does: if you take for example an 1mg XR Xanax, do you feel the full 1mg effects all day or is the 1mg just slowly releases into your system because if you do, does that mean it has more alprazolam? I’ve tried looking it up, but no success.

I am asking this, because 1mg Xanax barely does anything to me but taking 2mg helps with my anxiety.
